Vow Studio lets couples build a wedding website and collect RSVPs. This page explains what we store, why we store it, and who else can see it. We have tried to write it in plain language rather than boilerplate.

Who this covers

Two different groups of people appear in Vow Studio, and they are treated differently:

  • Couples: people who create an account and build a site. You give us your details directly.
  • Guests: people invited to a wedding. Guests never create an account. Their details are entered by the couple, or by the guest when responding to an invitation, and belong to that couple.

What we collect from couples

  • Your email address, and a securely hashed password if you signed up with one. We never see or store your password in readable form.
  • Your Google account's email address, if you chose “Continue with Google”. We request only your email and basic profile; we cannot read your Gmail, contacts, or anything else in your Google account.
  • Your wedding content: names, date, venue, address, schedule, story, FAQs, gift registry, attire notes, seating plan, and any other content you enter.
  • Images you upload, stored in Supabase Storage. Images on a published site are publicly accessible to anyone with the link.
  • When you were last active, so we can tell which accounts are in use.

What we collect about guests

Guest names, and their RSVP responses, dietary notes, and messages where provided. This information is entered by the couple or by the guest, and is visible to the couple who owns that wedding. We do not sell it, use it for advertising, or contact guests ourselves.

Analytics

We use PostHog to understand how the product is used: which features get used, where people get stuck. Public wedding pages also record a view count. Those counts are recorded against a one-way hashed identifier, so we cannot use them to identify an individual visitor or track anyone across sites.

Payments

Publishing a site is a paid, one-time charge handled by PayMongo. Payment happens on PayMongo's own hosted checkout page, and your card or e-wallet details never touch our servers and we never see them. We store only the payment's status, amount, and reference number, so we know whether your site is paid for.

Who we share data with

We do not sell your data. We share it only with the services that make the product work:

  • Supabase: database, authentication, and file storage
  • PostHog: product analytics
  • PayMongo: payment processing
  • Google: only if you choose to sign in with Google

We may also disclose information if the law requires it. Note that when you publish your wedding site, everything on it becomes public to anyone with the link. That is the point of publishing, but it is worth stating plainly.

How long we keep it

We keep your account and wedding data for as long as your account exists. Deleting your wedding removes it from public view immediately. If you want your account and its data deleted entirely, email us and we will do it.

Your choices

  • You can edit or delete your wedding content at any time from your dashboard.
  • You can unpublish your site to take it out of public view.
  • You can ask for a copy of your data, or ask us to delete it, by emailing hello@getvowstudio.com.

Changes

If we change this policy meaningfully, we will update the date at the top of this page.
